Welcome
FRIEND IN DESPERATE NEED
My name is David Greenhouse. My best friend growing up, Joseph Rose, has been diagnosed with a rare form of Sarcoma. Because of this, he is unable to work to support his family and pay the medical bills. Please find it in your heart to donate in order to give him the break that he needs. Please check out the "About Us" and read his story. Every dollar counts so please, if you can doanate even the smallest amount, it will help tremendously!

I have some very sad news to share. Joe passed away Saturday at 3pm pst. After suffering through a 10 month long battle he lost his hard fought fight against his very rare and painful form of cancer. Every effort was made to keep him with us as long as possible. Our only comfort is that he is not in pain anymore and is now in a better place.Joe was a fun and wonderful person who loved his family and friends and anyone who was lucky enough to know him had their lived touched forever by him. He fought so hard and went through so much not to leave us but in the end the fight became to much even for big Joe..
I would like to thank everyone for all of their support and prayers through this trying time. Once again we have a financial situation and need your help. We are trying to raise some money in order to give Joe a proper funeral.
7/3/2010 - Hi ,hope everyone is having a good holiday, just wanted to catch you up on Joe, he did really well the first two days after his second treatment which was a double dose of chemo on Tuesday, but now he is experiencing some side effects ,he is very weak he has the bad sore throat again and now he has severe swelling in his legs and feet, our doctor sent him yesterday for a sonogram/radiogram to make sure he didn't have any blood clots in his legs and luckily he did not, he is loosing patience a little with all the side effects and the bordeom but all in all he is doing so good and doing his best to deal with it all, next week is an off week for chemo so he has a little down time until the next treatment, the doctor said once he starts getting into the third and fourth set of chemo treatments it will begin to get more debilitating each time but he will get through it.
Love to everyone

6/28/2010 - Hi everyone, Joe had a pretty good afternoon today he was up and around and actually went down and took a dip in the pool ,he is walking a little slow and is still weak but he knows he needs to get out of bed and get his blood flowing so he is trying really hard,he is trying hard to get back to eating again so he had 2 pieces of pizza for lunch and a steak and potato for dinner, I know it might not sound like a big deal but this is big news for us !!! Tomorrow he starts chemo again after having to skip a week because of the staph infection so we will be back on track now with the treatments, We hope he handels it well and doesnt have the side effect of the blisters again but we will get through it no matter what, he is lying down now and says hi and thanks for all the encouragement he gets from everyone.

6/24/2010 - hi everyone this is joe, sorry I have not written or called sooner but it has been a very hard month for me. I started chemo two weeks ago and I took it pretty well with only one really bad side effect which left blisters in my mouth and throat so I was not able to talk for about a week. Then last week I got a staph infection and I was in the hospital for 4 days until they got the infection under control and I came home this Tuesday. I am feeling a litter better now and I wanted to thank everyone for their calls and emails and all the good wishes, everyone has been so great and helpful and I appreciate it so much . I will try to get in touch with everyone next week to say hi.

6/17/2010 - Hello everyone, I want to thank those family and friends who have donated to the website to help me with my medical bills, every donation has helped greatly.
I have finally started treatment this week. For the last three weeks I have been very weak, sick and dehydrated due the Ascites from the cancer cells. They are now giving me some very powerful cancer fighting chemo drugs .I am very sick and weak so I hope the side effects wont be too bad. My doctor said today I have a hard fight ahead of me to beat this. This is not going to be an easy fight as this cancer is so rare there are no answers as to the prognosis so I have to take it one day at a time and hope these drugs work a miracle, this is as serious as it gets. I appreciate everyones well wishes and good thoughts.

6/4/2010 - We just got home from UCLA. Joe will not have anymore surgery. He will definetly need chemo though. The specialist is getting tumor samples from the actusl frozen tumor they took out in March. He and his team will decide on the best type of chemo drug to use spefificall for his pathology. So we hope by next week to start and he said as soon as Joe starts the fluid issue will disappear. So the long trip there today and back home did produce an answer. We have to make one more trip back possibly we will know next week. The trip was really hard on him today and he is in bed.
6/2/2010 - We have had some questions asking if we had health insurance, we did ,but it was a limited plan and it has been exhausted from my first surgery, so at this point we have no insurance left at all. We have applied for Medicaid but that is state driven and would only be good in Nevada.Because there are no Sarcoma centers here in Nevada we must travel out of state to UCLA or elsewhere to seek treatment and we have no coverage left for that.Speaking from recent experience, there is nothing more important than having a comprehensive health plan in today's world.
Thanks to everyone so much, Joe
6/1/2010 - I want to send special thanks out to my employer Goodwill of Southern Nevada. They have gone above and beyond in their support and concern for me and my family. This is a great company to work for they really live their core values.
5/31/2010 - Last Friday we saw our Oncologist. We learned that Joe’s cancer is so rare that only a few of these cases have been documented and his treatment plan has to be specifically designed for him. Because of the rarity of his cancer he must be treated by a specialized Sarcoma doctor who has a team that only deals with the Sarcoma cancers. After finding and removing the initial large tumor back in March we know there are no more tumors but he still has cancer cells growing in the soft tissue of his abdominal wall that are known as “multiple tiny densities” or “cluster cells” We have been referred to UCLA Medical Center in LA to see a sarcoma specialist .We will be traveling this week to La to see this specialist and hopefully starting a treatment plan whether it be more surgery or maybe there could be new types of cancer killing drugs we do not know about that will eradicate his Sarcoma cells. As soon as we get any new info from this doctor I will update everyone.
